Yes! Painless and in fact, nearly invisible reforms, WILL yield amazing results! The difference is in simply approaching a system intelligently or stupidly. All over government we already see what stupid brings. Give the smart approach a try: how could it possibly be any worse?
Example – Stupid Income Tax or Intelligent Employment Tax: Suppose the word ‘Income’ were replaced with ‘Employment’. With this Employment Tax, your employer was being taxed for the benefit of your labor, instead of your being taxed on your income. The gross revenue to the government would not change and your employer would feel no difference either. The same remittance is being made: it is just being looked at and handled differently. Actually, you would see a slight net increase on your pay because extra would not be going in but on the flip side, you wouldn’t be getting any tax back in the spring. This is a tiny and painless reform that brings HUGE changes.
1. The overhead cost of administering the tax drops way down because the tax agency would not have to process the submissions from millions of citizens. They would just be examining the remittances from employers – AND they are already doing that anyways!
2. The government tax agents philosophy switches from being our enemy to being our servant and our ally. They start watching for signs of financial misdoings in industry and corporations, instead of just needlessly snooping into our personal and family finances.
3 AND we become FREE people. The government no longer views us as cash cow serfs to be milked and fleeced. PLUS, the political parties no longer have the ability to buy votes using OUR money. What is wrong with that reform? Isn’t an Employment Tax far more Intelligent and useful than an Income Tax is?
